The paved Minuteman Bikeway, perhaps the most notable recreational resource of the Battle Road Byway, is located along a former railroad right of way and runs parallel to the Byway from Arlington to Lexington Center. A paved section ends at Bedford Depot, where it is possible to continue along on a dirt surfaced abandoned railbed to Concord where it meets back up with the North Bridge section of the Byway.
