The Arlington Reservoir water tower was originally constructed in 1871 and was renovated in 1921 to be able to supply water to Lexington and Belmont as well as Arlington. The stone facade of the tank cost $2 million, and was built in the style of the Greek Rotunda of Arsinoe. The water tower was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, and still functions today.
